LCMS & WCMS Legislative Night Set for Wednesday October 1st
Help to Decide the Questions
The Larimer and Weld County Medical Societies are proud to once again team up to present a night of Facilitated Dialog with Northern Colorado's State and National Candidates. With 2008 being an election year the focus of the night will be on issues that the candidates will be called upon to address. The issues will address what are expected hot button issues of the day, that if elected each of the candidates will have to make decisions on. To identify these issues we will be collecting questions from the candidates and you the Doctors of Northern Colorado.
Chris Adams the president of the Adams Group has worked on several health related projects and facilitated our very successful program last year will be back with his electronic instant results voting keypads. Last year 97% of attendees said this added to the event. Come and find out why! Legislators will be given a chance to answer Doctors questions and Doctors will be given an opportunity to answer questions asked by the Legislators.
The night will feature food, information, and questions asked by Doctors and Legislators FREE of charge to LCMS members & a guest starting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1st. The event will be hosted by Austin’s of Water Valley located in Windsor.

T.R. Reid
LCMS is pleased to announce that our speaker for the December 10th Annual Meeting will be T.R. Reid. Reid is an Author, Washington Post Denver Bureau Chief, PBS Frontline contributor, professor, and the list could go on.
T.R. Reid has been working on a project called “Sick Around the World” over the last several years where he has visited major countries around the world to access the pro’s and con’s of their health care systems and contrasts them with the U.S. system.
Thus far he has produced a PBS Frontline program by the same name. It is an interesting glimpse at what attendees to the Annual Meeting can expect. He will be producing a more in-depth look via a book to be released in Spring of 2009. At the same time he will have a second PBS Frontline program that will look at ways the lessons learned could be implemented in the U.S. system.
More recently he was the keynote speaker at CMS’s Spring Conference. As you read in the last edition of the Honker he was identified by many LCMS members as the highlight of the weekend.
We hope you will join us for this FREE event as we welcome T.R. Reid to Larimer County on Wednesday December 10th starting at 6:30 p.m..
To RSVP today email clint@larimermedicalsociety.org and include your name and number of attendees or call 674-7512.
